h/t reader TG From David H. Petraeus, General, United States Army - Commanding

To the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Civilians of Multi-National Force-Iraq:

We serve in Iraq at a critical time. The war here will soon enter its fifth year. A decisive moment approaches. Shoulder-to-shoulder with our Iraqi comrades, we will conduct a pivotal campaign to improve security for the Iraqi people. The stakes could not be higher.

Our task is crucial. Security is essential for Iraq to build its future. Only with security can the Iraqi government come to grips with the tough issues it confronts and develop the capacity to serve its citizens. The hopes of the Iraqi people and the coalition countries are with us.

The enemies of Iraq will shrink at no act, however barbaric. They will do all that they can to shake the confidence of the people and to ...   more »

Okay, maybe not, again. Obviously bogus, it wasn't written on a tablet. Geesh!

HOBART, Ind. (AP) -- Kevin Russell found out it's not easy trying to cash a check from God. The 21-year-old man was arrested Monday after he tried to cash a check for $50,000 at the Chase Bank in Hobart that was signed "King Savior, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Servant," Hobart police Detective Jeff White said.

Russell was charged with one count attempted check fraud and one count intimidation, both felonies, and one count resisting law enforcement, a misdemeanor. He could face prison time.

Police were called to the bank after Russell tried to cash the check, which was written on an invalid Bank One check with no imprint, White said. Russell had several other checks with him that were signed the same way but made out in different dollar amounts, including ...   more »

I've done probably a total of two posts on MSNBC's Olberman during over two years of blogging. And those only because Mark Levin smacked him down. Allah has video of Glen Beck talking about Olberman. I know less about Beck, than I do Olberman.

Olberman is a non-entity judging by his ratings. He stunk it up as a sports caster and is basically a non-nothing making his living as a mouth piece in the far Left's echo chamber. Talking too much about him only gives him the credibility he currently doesn't have and doesn't deserve.

I think his attacks on media figures on the Right are simply about trying to gain temporary audience share he obviously can't attract on his own. It might be better to ignore him, as opposed to giving him a broader stage. Sensible people don't take him seriously and I doubt that ...   more »

Having observed the recent carbon footprint debate, I just realized something. My Father passed away in 1983 and willed his estate to me. Given that he hasn't used an iota of carbon in decades now, I'm thinking I'm sitting on quite an accumulation of non-carbon wealth.

So, if any Liberals are looking for absolution for their all too carbon friendly lifestyles, email me and I'm sure we can work soemhting out through Paypal.

For speaking out against Islamic supremacist thugs, a schoolteacher in Pakistan’s tribal area of South Waziristan got his head hacked off.

Islamabad - Suspected Islamic militants captured and beheaded a schoolteacher in Pakistan’s Afghan border area for allegedly spying for the United States, said an official on Wednesday.

The man’s body was found early on Tuesday in a large sack dumped by a road near Jandola, a town in the South Waziristan tribal district, said the local security official. He asked not to be identified due to the sensitive nature of his job. ...

A note found with the beheaded man’s body identified him as “Akhtar Usman, the one who spied for America,” said the official. He said the forehead of the man’s severed head was inscribed with the word for “hypocrite” in Urdu, Pakistan’s main language.

Usman, in his 30s, was a teacher at an ...   more »

Sugiero has lots of interesting detail on the German organization for ex-Muslims, whose leader recently asked for police protection after receiving death threats from representatives of the Religion of Women’s Rights™: Ex-Muslim Says ‘Islam Inherently Radical’.

Arzu Toker, deputy chairwoman, used a news conference to announce her separation from Islam: ‘I herewith resign from Islam. That’s it.’

Toker, a journalist who was born in 1952 in Turkey’s eastern Anatolia region, is radical in her criticism of Islam. She does not accept its Sharia system of rules at all, saying they contradict both human rights and the values of the German constitution.

She added that Islam was anti-woman.

‘It humiliates women and turns them into servants of the men,’ she said, adding the Islam was anti-man as well.

‘It reduces men to breeding animals controlled by their urges,’ said Toker. She quoted the 19th century ...   more »

Our dedicated server is staggering under a load of traffic again, but this time it’s not from Digg.com; we’ve been linked on the front page of fark.com, and the deluge is similar...

UPDATE at 2/28/07 3:23:37 pm:

And by the way, I’ve been getting emails from quite a few people complaining about a new delay in loading LGF, just in the past few days — I discovered the cause of this and fixed it, so things should be a bit snappier now.

UPDATE at 2/28/07 3:36:50 pm:

And another piece of good news: the stalkers at lgfwatch have been blocked from submitting their posts at Digg.com, for violating Digg’s terms of service. Attempting to submit a post from there now gives this message:

Bagging on the airheads who host The View is like shooting fish in a barrel, but today Joy Behar personified the impervious idiocy that characterizes so much of the angry left, as she called the Bush administration “liars and murderers,” then took offense at the suggestion she might be a “fringe liberal.” Hot Air has video of this crystalline moment.

(The scary thing is that she may be right. This cognitive dissonance might be mainstream.)
