Zombie’s report on the premier of the Turkish film Valley of the Wolves in Fremont California is now online. Apparently, for its first US showing, the film was edited to remove the most overt antisemitic elements: Valley of the Wolves: Iraq.

Gunfire Traded Across Korean Border. (Hat tip: SnowDawg.)

SEOUL, South Korea — Soldiers from North Korea and South Korea exchanged fire along their border late Monday, but no one was hurt, a South Korean military official said Tuesday.

The incident happened shortly before sunset when North Korean soldiers fired two bullets toward a South Korean guard post in the eastern part of the Demilitarized Zone, said Maj. Kim Tae-hoon of the Joint Chiefs of Staff office.

South Korean soldiers immediately fired back six rounds, Kim said.

He said South Korea doesn’t know what prompted the North ...   more »

Perhaps the best reason to support John Bolton's confirmation as our nation's United Nations ambassador is that his approach to foreign policy is radically different from John Kerry's, as illustrated by their exchange during Bolton's confirmation hearings. It is a shame anyone had to miss this delicious slap-down.

Bolton said that for the United Nations to be effective on Iran, North Korea and Lebanon, the 15 members of the Security Council (and particularly the "PERM 5,") would have to reach policy agreements concerning those countries.

Kerry's reflexive response was: "And isn't it fair to say that we're sort ...   more »

Civilians

Update: Looks like more manipulation. If you check in at lgf and HotAir, you'll find a CNN story talking about the rotting corpses from a mass burial in Tyre. Yet, as I point out below, bodies from that burial were stored in refrigerated trucks. Tyre is a Hezbollah strong hold and it appears as though rather than using the refrigerated trucks in all cases, they are allowing the scenes to be as gruesome as possible when the media is about.

Also, if the refrigerated bodies weren't the ones buried in Tyre on Satruday, where did they ...   more »

Hard to imagine who the Syrian would be boy dictator thinks he's kidding. It isn't as if anyone is even interested in his opinion, or much afraid of his army. Israel would have an easier time taking out Syria's army than even Hezbollah, as they would have to mass to be effective.

Yet he's chiming in as against an International force - no doubt because UNFIL is easier to bribe. And he has raised the country's military alert status. The Syrian army is more an effective internal police force to keep opposition down, than it is ...   more »

Scroll down to the third and fourth images at Confederate Yankee's post.

Then have a look at this Guardian site, especially the 4th and 8th and last image. It is the same group at various times.

They certainly seem to be going to a lot of trouble to cover up what looks like a number of adult males, most likely Hezbollah fighters, while making sure that images of any children or women killed in Qana are fully exposed.

Allahpundit notes this example of hardcore death porn at CNN, as the barrage of anti-Israel propaganda shows no sign of letting up: Eyewitness: Mass burial in Lebanon - Jul 29, 2006.

I’d say this is shockingly over the top, even for CNN, but it really isn’t any more.

All have numbers. Coffin No. 104 has three names on it - Ali, Mohammed and Talib - all children. Nearby, Fatawi Horani is screaming and crying. Her granddaughter Marim, 15, was killed, she says, while trying to flee the fighting.

Three soldiers begin to struggle with a large ...   more »
