Riehl World View

For two years Democrats have been maligning our troops. From Jack Murtha calling them murderers, to John Kerry calling them terrorists. Kerry, being the politically tone deaf fool that he, simply couldn't keep his mouth shut for another week and the damn has broken. The anger being seen on the Right just now isn't simply political posturing before an election. Perhaps some of it is, for some. But it doesn't matter. It is the pent up frustration with Democrats who now have a history of troop bashing that has caught up with them, courtesy of John Cut and Run Reporting for Duty Kerry.

McCain was on Fox again tonight laying into Kerry and he wasn't buying any of Alan Colmes BS. Amazing of all, Michael Barrone, not known for his partisan spin, was also incensed and called Colmes defense of Kerry ... well, incomprehensible, to put it ...   more »

Evidently the Congressman didn't want his name attached to the quote. So much for this all being partisan spin.

A Democratic congressman told ABC News Tuesday, "I guess Kerry wasn't content blowing 2004, now he wants to blow 2006, too."

Update: I saw this earlier. I wonder what John Cut and Run Kerry is going to do about his planned attendance at a rally with Veterans tomorrow?

Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Joe Repya issued this statement earlier this afternoon:

The men and women serving in the uniform of our nation are not fodder for politicians to joke about. By insulting veterans and active members of the United States military as uneducated losers, John Kerry owes an apology to all the brave men and women who have ever worn the uniform of our country. As a 2005 veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, I call on Tim Walz ...   more »

I just realized that if you don't pay attention in class and study hard, one day you might end up working as a Kerry speech writer, or worse, a campaign adviser, or God forbid, a Democrat Presidential candidate in a tank with a funny hat like Dukakis.

Something like that might not have happened if anyone with any military experience was around. Maybe those military types aren't so stupid, after all.

Kerry, who is (ed.- was) considering another run for the White House in 2008, angrily fired back.

His statement called Republicans "assorted right-wing nut jobs."

And at a hastily arranged news conference in Seattle, Kerry said: "I apologize to no one....

View Article  CNN Shills for Sen. Kerry, Uneducated Soldiers Comment Meant For President Bush
NewsBusters.org - Exposing Liberal Media Bias

After today, CNN might have to change the “C” in its initials to a “K”, as the cable network has been shilling for Senator John Kerry for hours.

By now, most of you are aware of an extraordinarily demeaning statement made by the junior senator from Massachusetts yesterday in front of a group of college students in California as reported by NewsBusters (video here). Well, some of CNN’s finest have been working the room so to speak trying to convince the American people that this was all a mistake, and that Kerry meant this as a jab at the president.

Correspondent Ed Henry filed a report Tuesday afternoon (video here) in which he stated, “Senator Kerry is insisting that he was referring to the president there, not to actual U.S. troops in Iraq, when he referred to 'getting stuck in ...   more »

Here’s more information about two of the Australians arrested in Yemen for an Al Qaeda plot to smuggle arms to Somalia: The mother, her sons and their terrorist dad. (Hat tip: Aussiemagpie.)

TWO of the Australian men arrested in Yemen on terrorism charges are the sons of Abdul Rahim Ayub, the man who set up a Jemaah Islamiah cell here and fled after the Bali bombings.

The Herald can also reveal that the mother of the two brothers is an Australian-born woman called Rabiah Hutchison and is regarded by security agencies as possibly more radical than her former husband.

Ms Hutchison is in Yemen with her sons, Mohammed Ayub and Abdullah Ayub, and the Herald has been told that their tour group was joined by some of the wives of the men who were arrested on terrorism charges in Sydney one year ago.

The group - ...   more »

The Bush Derangement Syndrome story of the evening: Maine lawyer arrested after dressing as bin Laden. (Hat tip: Bill Amos.)

BOSTON (Reuters) - A Maine attorney who released information in 2000 about President George W. Bush’s drunken driving conviction was arrested on Tuesday after he dressed up as al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and waved a fake gun at traffic.

Police in South Portland, Maine, arrested Thomas Connolly, 49, of Scarborough, Maine, and charged him with criminal threatening. He was released on bail, local officials said.

Lt. Todd Bernard said the police department received calls about a man wearing Middle Eastern garb and a bin Laden mask and carrying fake dynamite standing along an interstate highway. When police arrived, they saw Connolly holding a gun.

“They ordered him to drop the weapon several times and he eventually complied,” Bernard said. It turned out the gun ...   more »

Alleged Al Qaeda operative Jose Padilla is claiming torture, with a twist. His lawyer says US interrogators took him on a journey to the center of his mind. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, man. Far out.

MIAMI (Reuters) - Lawyers for alleged al Qaeda operative Jose Padilla have asked a Florida judge to dismiss the terrorism case against him, saying he was tortured and force-fed psychedelic drugs while held at a U.S. military brig for more than 3-1/2 years.

“The torture took myriad forms, each designed to cause pain, anguish, depression and ultimately, the loss of will to live,” Padilla’s attorney’s said in the motion for dismissal filed in Miami federal court earlier this month.

“Often he had to endure multiple interrogators who would scream, shake and otherwise assault Mr. Padilla,” his lawyers said. “Additionally, Mr. Padilla was given drugs against his will, believed to ...   more »
